This is the year! So many graduation events plagued the last two weeks, with most of my friends being in those events.
What better to do then gather everyone together and have a hot pot night. It was a pretty eventful evening and the food was awesome. (even better when amongst your friends)

Lastly, Congratulations to all who have finished college this year!

  • Brian, you're right, it's much better with friends. This capture, not showing the food but only the pot, makes me hungry. Hungry for imagining... and eating!
    Jonas @ 2008-06-24 05:21:35
  • I like how you've framed this. Reminds me that there's nothing more down to earth than a home cooked meal.

  • This is a case where the small aperture made the shot. The shallo DoF really defines the primary and secondary subjects. The clarity, even in the soft focus areas is great. You've taken what might have been nothing and made it look like it should be in a cookbook or a magazine. Really nice work. Making nothing look great is a lot more impressive than say a photo of the Eiffel Tower, which is easy to make look good.
    Mike @ 2008-06-24 07:05:41
  • Brilliant! Love the framing and the textures on the pot. The DoF is perfect as well.

  • I've forgotten all about the picture.. all I can see is food now! lol
I love such times with friends. Nice shot!
    Radel @ 2008-06-24 07:55:17
  • Love the perspective, cool shot!
    Ashish Sidapara @ 2008-06-24 08:08:13
  • I love this shot. You've captured an everyday moment so splendidly.
    sherri @ 2008-06-24 08:35:53
  • I agree with Mike, I look at a lot of cookbooks and magazines, and this looks like a photo from one of them! :) I must say...that was a really really yummy dinner! I love how your photo makes me want it again...I can 'smell' it through my computer screen!! ;o) Good times! yes yes!

    yiannis krikis @ 2008-06-24 09:36:47

    Tracey @ 2008-06-24 09:53:54

    Marcie @ 2008-06-24 10:47:11
  • I like the color, the approach on the pot, get out of focus of the rest, and also, the appetite has been opened me!
    cashondeo @ 2008-06-24 11:13:17
  • Now THAT is the way to celebrate, Brian! Way to go!
    Ginnie @ 2008-06-24 12:56:39
  • such a rich image. i enjoy the edges of this image as much as the main subject - the figure in the background - the arm reaching it - the blue flame. all lovely.
    michele @ 2008-06-24 15:56:23
  • Very warm colors and great sharpness in the foreground.
    cako @ 2008-06-24 16:54:38
  • Terrific composition - like the blue flames of gas under the simmering pot and the hungry connoisseur in the background.
